Prompt: Just Visiting

<Note: This document has been translated to English. All information have been converted to earth units.>

Stardate: 4/25/12
AUDIO LOG:
This is one of what they called a Photograph.
I never really did find out what  it had to do with graphs.
These "Humans", as they call themselves, seem to have some sort of obsession with analog formats of information gathering and sending. There was not a single Digi-Screen or FEED station in sight. The closets they came was a "TV" which is like one of those ancient hyper screens except for the lack of smell and taste being broadcasted. They even seed to run off of those old plasma crystals that we used to joke about using. Humans also seem to rely the most on visual aspects more than anything else so I was not noticed while I was there in disguise.

While these humans do show some intelligence, most of them are using or a near to a "Computer". These Computers are like a visual way of transferring data. There really is no simple way to explain it easily so I will refrain from wasting data crystals. Sometimes it seems like the company is asking too much for spent crystals but now that the market is so high...(cough) anyway it seems strange that they would not just go get bionic implants but maybe they are not smart enough to make them.

One of the odd things I noticed was the rows upon rows of these locked storage units show in what Humans call a photograph. These were embedded all over in the walls of the structure that I was studying.  Now and then a Human would go up to one and, after a bunch of odd movements, opened it. All the units would seem to contain were cloth bags and sometimes "books"(Weren't those things they dug up out of the homeworld's swamp called books? They were thousands of years old...). They must have had some sort of hidden security that I could not see because all they appeared to be held closed with was a thin bolt with a round dial on the base. It would not take much force to remove that bolt so it must have something extra. Perhaps a mono-molecular coating?

Also one last thing before I end this log; the doors. The user interface interface is by far one of the strangest I have seen in my long 137 years working for IGE (Intra-Galactic Explorers). They seemed to function on a mechanical latch rather than an electro-magnetic field. One would actually have to walk up to the door and push down on this lever like protrusion. This would move a bolt and the door would then open. It was most interesting; no bio-scanners at all!

Anyway that sums up that report.
I expect the paycheck to be deposited in the usual bank account.

Commander Keen

Well, mainly because I was asked to I will now put up a post about one of my favorite childhood computer games.

Almost everyone I have ever asked about this game does not know of it or about it. I find this a rather shame because of he fact that I had played this game all through out my childhood (when I say childhood I am referring to ages between 5 and 10).

The game was actually more like a series of games but the one I played the most was known as "Commander Keen Episode 4: The Secret of The Oracle".  There wasn't anything really special about it. It was also probably the first computer game that I ever played seeing as I can not remember playing any before that.

The main plot line is about a kid called Billy Blaze, who just so happens to have an IQ of 314. He also managed to build a rocket ship out of soup cans and other household junk. He is constantly donning his big brothers football helmet and becoming "Commander Keen, The Defender of Earth", saver of the world/galaxy when ever his parents and babysitter are asleep. The back story of this particular game is more or less as follows (I'm going to quote the game here):

"Billy has been working on a new invention in this episode. His latest invention is the Photachyon Tranceiver, a radio that can reviece signals from anywhere in the galaxy. After playing around with his new invention, he suddenly hears a strange message: "brrzzz ... giggg ... oment of great triumph ... frzzt ... ast the Milky Way will be ... huzzzzz ... terly destroyed ... pyuneeeeeeg ... can stop us now. We will remake the galaxy in the name of the Gannalech. Power to our race! power to the Shikadi!" After zapping his parents, Billy heads to The Oracle of Gnosticus IV, who will help Billy with his mission."

Unfortunately, because this is an old game it is a lot harder to get running on a new computer.  It still works with Windows XP but Windows 7 has compatibility issues. Even so, if you can get it to work I think it is still a great game to play when there is nothing else to do.

If you are interested in playing this game, it and this image shown above, can be found here under the link titled: "Secret of The Oracle".

Now What?

Image Sorce
Prompt:
" January 16th will arrive soon enough.  A fresh new face will greet you in room 218.  How will you prepare yourself and your new guide for the journey into the next chapter?"

Well I suppose that to "prepare myself" I would go through all previous assignments and seek out which ones I was most happy with or liked the most. Then taking all the ones I did not like I would delete and/or incinerate all those files. Once the amount of my bad work had been reduced to ashes or bytes of data, I would take all the good assignment and place them in my "archive". Those would be saved until a time where I might need them.

However to "Prepare my new guide" might take a bit more work...
I personally would never teach such a class of miscreants but if I did have to teach this class then I would take the time to put out a survey and figure out what the students liked about the last teacher and what they disliked. Taking these responses I would then try to take what needed to be taught and figure out how to make it so that the students would enjoy their work more. Hopefully this would increase the moral and maturity of the class and we could then begin work on more advanced topics. Maybe even getting back to doing the Ego like usual.

All in all I hope that in the coming year the new teacher will be an excellent addition to our school and class.

Anyone want to lend me a hand?

Hello everyone!

Most of you will want to avoid this post as if it had the plague because I need someone to look over/edit a "fan-fiction" I am writing. If you do not know what a fan-fiction is then I would suggest you flee from this blog and instead go view some other persons post about their adorable pet cat or a recipe for some very good muffins.
How ever if you are a willing victim subject who would not mind my terrible writing style and grammatical errors then please send me an email at keegamer@gmail.com
Thank you for your time and as always,

A Poem

Sweet-
By Martin Williams

The steel has made  me cold
No the stone made me hard
Nor the gray made me colorless.

The dopefiends have not made me scandalous
Nor the cops made me hateful
Nor the hateful made me heartless

The food has not killed my appetite
Nor sexlessness killed my desire
Nor lifelessness killed my thirst.

They gave me no water for my garden,
Gave me sand for seeds,
And I grew flowers
And low fruit,
Enough to color the walls
And make stale rice
Taste sweet.
